Home-Start Gosport & Fareham is a voluntary organisation promoting the welfare of families with at least one preschool child. Home visitors help to prevent family crisis or breakdown by offering regular support, befriending and providing practical help to families who are experiencing difficulties. You will be an enthusiastic and committed individual, able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the needs of families with young children and you will play a key role in supporting families in their own home.
You will be responsible for visiting families in their own homes. Providing outreach support, you will be helping families to achieve emotionally healthier, less isolated and more active lives within the local community. As such, it is essential that you have previous relevant experience, a minimal educational achievement of GCSE or NVQ level 2, and an awareness of current legislation and policies relating to children and families.
Applicants will be required to have the use of their own car, for which expenses are paid. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
