Introducing our runner for the Virgin London Marathon 2020, Elliot Hendy.
Elliot is a qualified personal trainer, working at Nuffield Health in Farnborough, Hampshire.
Elliot is no stranger to taking on challenges having completed three Ironman distance Triathlons in the past and various endurance events, including the Farnborough Winter Half Marathon earlier this month. He has also run the London Marathon previously, which means he has a good understanding of the training and commitment required to take on this challenge. However, Elliot is never one to take the easy option and has set himself an ambitious target of completing the marathon in under 3 hours and 45 minutes, as well as raising lots of money for Home-Start Hampshire!
Discussing why he has chosen to support Home-Start Hampshire Elliot says:
“I’m running for Home-Start Hampshire as being a parent can be tough, as I’ve discovered myself over the past year!
I know of Home-Start Hampshire through my employer, Nuffield Health, and can really understand and appreciate the value of the work they do with families who may be struggling across Hampshire, including in Rushmoor and Hart where I live. Having learnt more about the charity over recent months I want to support their goal of helping more families in 2020 and beyond, because there are so many more families that can benefit from the kind of help they provide.”
