Family Groups

At Home-Start Hampshire we run a range of family groups which are by referral only, third party or self-referral. The groups are supported by trained and experienced volunteers who will ensure you and your little one(s) are welcomed, feel safe and have a positive experience.

All of our groups provide a safe non-judgmental environment where families can make the first steps to regular social interaction and peer support.

To refer a family to one of our groups, or make a self-referral please complete a referral form, which can be found here.

“Since I found out about Home-Start everything has changed.  Its amazing that just one person can wake up and say ‘you can do this.’ I can and I’ve done it”

Home-Start Family

In Havant, Meon Valley and Gosport & Fareham we run family groups offering a 12-week programme of support. Each programme includes a first aid session, budgeting and finance guidance, well-being and common parenting challenges guidance and support.

Havant – Tuesdays 10:15am to 11:45am at The Spring (starting March 3rd 2026).

Meon Valley – Mondays 10:15am to 11:45am at Wickham Community Centre.

Gosport & Fareham – Wednesdays 9.45am to 11.45am in the Crossley Centre.

We also have a Mindfulness Group running at the Crossley Centre in Gosport for families linked to the Royal Navy or Royal Marines. The group runs weekly on a Wednesday from 3:30pm – 5pm and offers activities to help the children of serving personnel with their well-being.

In Rushmoor & Hart we hold a well-being support group for parents with a diagnosed mental health condition. The group follows a 12-week programme and runs on Mondays at the Aldershot Garrison Community Hub 10am to 11:30am.

We also have a Mums Matter group at the Elizabeth Hall in Hook on Wednesdays from 10am to 12noon for families living in Odiham, Hartley Wintney and Hook and on a Tuesday from 10am to 11:30am we run a Families Matter group at North Town Community Base in Aldershot. We will be starting a group in Farnborough in Spring 2026 and one in Church Crookham later in the year.

Each of our groups provides a supportive community for parents with young children. They offer a safe and welcoming environment where parents can connect and receive support from staff, volunteers, and fellow parents.

“Services like this are brilliant.  We want as a nation to ensure that all vulnerable families have the most help in promoting that vital link between themselves and their babies.  Young people want to learn how to be good parents”

Frank Field, MP
