Seb’s 50-Miler for Home-Start Hampshire
We are thrilled to share that local runner and long-time supporter, Seb, is taking on an extraordinary challenge to raise funds for Home‑Start Hampshire. On March 21st, Seb will run the Winter’s End 50‑mile ultra marathon, a demanding route stretching from Arundel to Winchester – and he’s doing it for families who need support now more than ever.
Seb is no stranger to ambitious outdoor adventures. Over the years, he’s pushed himself through countless long-distance challenges, often being told he should run for a cause. This year, he decided it was finally time:
“Having been on many running adventures, I’ve often been told I should do one for a good cause; it’s about time I did…
“I’ve chosen to support Home‑Start Hampshire, an amazing local charity that helps families with young children through some of the most challenging circumstances.”
For Seb, this charity is personal. He’s witnessed first-hand the difference our volunteers and programmes make to local families, and his connection goes even deeper, as his father proudly serves as Co‑Chair of Trustees for Home‑Start Hampshire.
Why Seb Is Running for Home‑Start Hampshire
Families across the UK are facing increasing pressures. Childhood poverty is at its highest level in years, and the ongoing cost‑of‑living crisis continues to push many households to breaking point. For families with young children, these challenges can be especially overwhelming.
Home‑Start Hampshire provides early help, emotional support, and practical guidance to parents navigating tough times – ensuring children get the best possible start in life. Seb’s run will help us reach more families who need that support.
“With childhood poverty at its highest in years, ongoing cost-of-living pressures, and little improvement in quality of life since 2008, families, especially those with young children, are often hit the hardest.”
